The study rooms can be reserved seven (7) days in advance. (Note: Larger meeting rooms can be reserved up to 60 days in advance.)

How long can I reserve a study room for?

Study rooms can be reserved for 2 hours. You can stay longer if there are no other reservations. Rooms may be reserved for a maximum of 12 hours per week (combined total for both rooms).

When can I reserve the room?

You may reserve the room during library operating hours. Monday - Thursday 10am-8pm, Friday: Closed, Saturday: 10am- 4pm, Sunday: Closed. Please refer to our calendar for holiday and additional closed dates.

What is the fee?

There is no fee to use a study room for individual use. For business, the rate is $25 per hour.

Can I just walk in?

Yes. Walk-ins are allowed if a room is vacant but online reservations will bump walk-in use.

Request a Meeting Room

Where are the meeting rooms located?

There are several rooms available for meeting. Please refer to the map of our library at the bottom of this website or take a Google 3D Street View Tour of the building to orient yourself with the room locations.

How do I reserve the room?

Request a room by visiting https://calendar.sgpl.org/reserve-room  and creating an account. We prefer you use the online form, but if you need assistance, please call us at 630-466-4686 or email the Adult Reference Department.

How far in advance can I reserve a meeting room?

Meeting rooms can be reserved sixty (60) days in advance. (Note: Study rooms may only be reserved up to 7 days in advance.) The rooms are made available first to our staff for library programming needs, and we cannot allow a group to book a room for a regular set date and time. (For example, we can not accommodate a monthly meeting schedule where a group would like to book the same date/time every month for a year.)

How long can I reserve a study room for?

Rooms may be reserved for a three (3) hour reservation, if the room is for nonprofit use. Fees apply if a group would like the room for longer than three (3) hours, or if the group stays past library operating hours. Businesses can reserve the room for an hourly fee.

What is the fee?

Fees are based on the room type and organization type. Please see the chart below for rates. Rooms are free for up to 3 hours for nonprofit groups. One notable change, as of 7/1/22, is that homeowner’s associations now qualify for free room usage.

Can I just walk in?

No, rooms must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance. Last minute reservations are at the discretion of the Library Director. Please call 630-466-4686 for last minute reservation information.

Do I need to have a Sugar Grove Public Library District card?

No, rooms are available to reserve for anyone. SGPLD cardholders will get priority in the event of multiple requests for the same time slot.

How big is the room?

To view a list of rooms along with maximum room occupancy, please visit here. It will tell you how many people can fit in each room, and will show you an image of the room.

Can I reserve the room for a private party?

No, rooms can no longer be reserved for social events anymore as of 7/1/22.

Can I bring alcohol into the meeting room?

No, alcohol is not allowed for meetings. Alcohol is allowed at Library sponsored programs and fundraisers, per our Alcoholic Beverages Policy.

Can I bring food into the meeting room?

Yes, you may bring food into meeting rooms. There is a catering kitchen available attached to Room B or Room C that has a sink, microwave, and refrigerator. The room must be left in clean condition or a cleaning fee will apply.

Can I reserve the room for a presentation?

You can use the room for a private presentation or training, but cannot advertise an event as a library program or otherwise try to use the room for gaining new business. Please review our full library policy for details on this. If you would like to be considered for a library program, please contact the Adult Reference Department.

Can you set the room up for me?

If you are a nonprofit using the room for no fee, you will need to arrange for the setup by arriving early or communicating with staff about setup the prior day. If you are a business paying for the room usage, the Library will set up the room for you. Rooms requiring setup are Meeting Room A, B, and C. Other rooms like the Board Room and Now Space already have tables and chairs.
