The kids library offers a wide variety of literary programs, clubs, and special events.

Special Events
READ TO ROVER
Readers at all levels can benefit from our Read to Rover program. Reading to the friendly and patient Fox Valley Therapy Dogs allows children to improve their reading skills and gain invaluable confidence while reading their favorite stories to dogs who love to listen.
Please register to ensure enough dogs are available for all readers. A separate registration is required each month. No library card necessary.

TINY TOTS PLAY GROUP
Ages 0-3 with an adult: Enjoy a play area filled with games, blocks, puzzles, books, and more! While children have fun, they're practicing social and gross motor skills. Program is geared toward kids ages 0-3, but older siblings are welcome.

'SCOPES IN THE CITY WITH ADLER PLANETARIUM
All ages: Enjoy an introduction to many outdoor and even indoor astronomy-based activities! We always prioritize taking the telescopes outside, and are prepared with other options that can be done indoors or even without a clear view of the sky! Looking at meteorites under a microscope or learning about telescopes with some historic replicas are educational opportunities even when the weather is inclement!

All ages: Since you have the day off of school, come to the library for fun activities!

SPOOKY STORY WALK®
All ages: Stretch your legs and read giant pages of a spooky children's book on a local nature path! Meet at the library before walking your way through a self-guided tour of a children's book. Bring your flashlight!

A MAGICAL HALLOWEEN AT THE LIBRARY
All ages: Drop-in activities include:
- 11am-12pm: Ken Mate the Magician: featuring magic, mystery, and intrigue
- 12-1pm: Sweet Poppin' Pete ballon artist
- 11am-3pm: Trick or Treating in the library
- 11am-2pm: Drop-in Crafts
- All day: Guess the candies game

Fall Story Times
TODDLER & BABY STORY TIME
Ages 0-3: Toddler Story Time encourages early literacy and helps develop language skills and social skills through the use of simple books, fun fingerplays, and action rhymes. Children learn the joy of choosing a book and shared reading. Click here to register individually for each class.

Ages 3-5: We read stories, do fun fingerplays, sing songs, play letter-recognition games, make crafts, and more. Your 3-5 year old will join us for a fun time and develop independence, literacy, language, and social skills as well as positive associations with reading and the library. CURIOSITY CLUB: MYTHICAL CREATURES
Grades K-2: This fun monthly program includes books, crafts, and activities geared toward curious kids in K-2nd grade. Join us as we explore a new and interesting topic each month. A separate registration is required each month.

LEGO CLUB
Grades K-5: Everything is awesome at Lego Club! Let your imagination soar; the ceiling is the limit! Lego activities include building, games, and more. Lego materials are provided by SGPL and all creations will be displayed in the library for the month following each club. A separate registration is required each month. *Due to registration limitations, please only register for ONE Lego Club per month.

BOOKS AND COOKIES CLUB: THE SHADOWS
Grades 3-5: This exciting monthly club includes specific book-themed crafts and activities. Read "The Shadows", book 1 in The Books of Elsewhere series by Jacqueline West in advance and discuss it with other kids your age while sampling delicious cookies. POKEMON CLUB
Grades 1-6: Calling all Pokémon Trainers! Come play, learn, and talk about Pokémon. Play the game, trade cards, and do crafts. Bring your Nintendo DS, Nintendo Switch, or smart phone if you would like to play with another friend in the club or Pokémon Go.
