Position Title: Circulation Assistant
Part Time, Non-Exempt, 20-25 hours with a mix of evening, morning, and weekend shifts.

The Sugar Grove Public Library District has an opening for a Circulation Services Assistant. This position involves handling library materials (check-in, check-out, shelve, sort, inspect), providing excellent customer service to our library patrons utilizing various computer programs and databases, and other projects as assigned.
The right candidate will have:
Passion for providing excellent customer service and ability to build relationships
High attention to detail
Proficient in technology, including Microsoft Word & Excel, library database, and trouble-shooting basic computer and office equipment
Ability to multi-task at a busy desk and communicate effectively
Ability to follow directions; possess initiative to find other tasks to complete if all work is done
Hours and Benefits:
Hourly salary range is between $15.00 - $18.00 per hour depending on experience. The Library offers a Health Reimbursement Account benefit of $1,700 per calendar year ($65 per paycheck). This position accrues PTO at a rate of 3.09 hours per paycheck and offers paid holidays.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma required.
- One (1) year of customer service work experience.
- Strong computer skills required, including Microsoft Word, Office, and database management
- Ability to communicate clearly in written/spoken English
About the Library:
The Sugar Grove Public Library District serves 16,114 residents including the Village of Sugar Grove, Sugar Grove Township, and some residents in Montgomery, Aurora, North Aurora, and Elburn. We are located 50 miles west of Chicago, minutes from I-88. Our facility is 26,000 square feet and was built in 2009. The Library is a member of the SWAN consortium and shares resources with 100 other member libraries. The Library is open 50 hours a week: Monday – Thursday: 10am- 8pm, Saturday 10am – 4pm, and Sunday 2pm-6pm.
