SUMMER READING 2024
All ages: Track your reading to earn badges and prizes. Sugar Grove Library cardholders will also earn raffle tickets for grand prize drawing. Summer Reading begins May 28 and ends July 31. Find more details here.
MUSIC AT THE BLISSFUL: KIDS CONCERT
Multi-Award winning, national touring children's musician from Boston, MA, Music At The Blissful (Evan Haller) comes to the Sugar Grove Public Library for a fun-filled, interactive, movement-packed musical experience for the whole family. Come join the fun as we sing, jump, shake, and laugh as Music At The Blissful plays songs off the new album "What's Next" and hits from his catalog like "The Truck Song". Bring your fun energy because this is sure to be an action-packed good time for all.

WILDLIFE RESCUE PRESENTER
Incoming grades K-5: Learn all about wildlife rescue with Anderson Humane, then visit with an opossum ambassador. Space is limited for the comfort of our marsupial friend. Please register!

Incoming grades 2-5: Make your own Minecraft-inspired self-portrait. No registration needed.

Early Childhood
MESSY MONDAYS
Calling all families with kids 0-6 for this unstructured sensory play program- we'll get hands-on with messy projects, so dress accordingly! Drop in any time during the program to participate. No registration needed.
- Monday, July 8: 10:30-11:30am: Ice Cube Painting
- Monday, August 12: 10:30-11:30am: Water play and sensory bins outside. In case of inclement weather, activities will be adapted to move inside.
SATURDAY STORIES AT THE PARK
Join us at the park for stories and songs outside, then get your wiggles out on the playground! Don't forget a blanket and sunscreen! In case of inclement weather, story time will be cancelled. No registration needed.

BABY AND TODDLER STORY TIME
Ages 0-3: Baby and Toddler Story Time encourages early literacy and helps develop language skills and social skills through the use of simple books, fun fingerplays, and action rhymes. Children learn the joy of choosing a book and shared reading. Registration is not needed for Baby and Toddler Story Time.

PRESCHOOL STORY TIME
Ages 3-6: We read stories, do fun fingerplays, sing songs, play letter-recognition games, make crafts, and more. Your 3-6 year old will join us for a fun time and develop independence, literacy, language, and social skills as well as positive associations with reading and the library. Caregivers do not attend the class but must stay in the library. Click here to register individually for each class.*Starting in July, Preschool Story Time starts at 10am!

FAMILY STORY TIME
Bring the whole family to this weekly drop-in story time featuring stories, songs, rhymes, and more! Siblings welcome. No registration needed.

TINY TOTS PLAY GROUP
Ages 0-3 with an adult: Enjoy a play area filled with games, blocks, puzzles, books, and more! While children have fun, they're practicing social and gross motor skills. Program is geared toward kids ages 0-3, but older siblings are welcome.

LEGO CLUB
Kids entering grades K-5: Everything is awesome at Lego Club! Let your imagination soar; the ceiling is the limit! Lego activities include building, games, and more. Lego materials are provided by SGPL and all creations will be displayed in the library for the month following each club. A separate registration is required each month.

READ TO ROVER
Readers at all levels can benefit from our Read to Rover program. Reading to the friendly and patient Fox Valley Therapy Dogs allows children to improve their reading skills and gain invaluable confidence while reading their favorite stories to dogs who love to listen.Please register to ensure enough dogs are available for all readers. A separate registration is required each month. No library card necessary.

POKEMON CLUB
Kids entering grades 1-6: Calling all Pokémon Trainers! Come play, learn, and talk about Pokémon. Play the game, trade cards, and do crafts. Bring your Nintendo DS, Nintendo Switch, or smart phone if you would like to play with another friend in the club or Pokémon Go.

BOOKS AND COOKIES CLUB
Kids entering grades 3-6: We put a new twist on Books and Cookies Club for the summer! Read any book and come discuss it with other kids your age while sampling delicious cookies.
